Two words – Anna Wintour. Last night Sydney’s fashionista’s and style-scions alike braved the cold to see the only fashion documentary that matters – “The September Issue”, an inside look at the making of perhaps the most famous issue – and biggest – of any magazine, Vogue’s eponymous September issue, the corner-stone of the publishing year for the venerable magazine. Just like last years issue raised the bar to 832 pages, this film was bigger than Karl Lagerfeld’s ego and promptly delivered on it’s promises – a look at what really goes into making Vogue the style icon it still is today, 140 years later. Plenty of Anna, Grace, fashion, photographers, celebrities – no other film with satisfy an insatiable hunger for the industry like this film will.
