For a while, down filled coats have been very popular for those random days that are in the 40′s or maybe 30′s. However, now I think that the stores are all coming out with jackets that have fur lining inside them. These will definitely keep you warm! Also, the lightweight scarves add a lot of style to any outfit. Oh, and don’t forget those Uggs that will always keep your feet warm. Peterman Company is anything but a parody, offering “high-quality men’s, women’s, home and one-of-a-kind merchandise,” “traveling the world to find uncommonly good stuff.” Sounds like a fantastic job, right? Where does Lindy Shopper sign up?
There are definitely a lot of items with a nod to vintage in the catalog, made to look even more so with the help of the catalog’s hand-drawn illustrations of the clothing (which, themselves, look like a nod to vintage pattern drawings in the way that they are shaded). I’m trying to decide if the hand-drawn illustrations of the clothes are helpful or not. Generally, clothes are modeled by someone who is tall and rail thin, so it’s hard to tell how it will fit in that instance as well. In any case, the clothes are beautifully sketched and it is a novel way to present them.
I am particularly in love with the 1947 plaid dress and the seersucker sailor pants for women and their men’s pants and striped shirts.

Lastest update from Happy Daze! (our accountants sailing trip!)…….
We left Vannes on 16 July, had a problems with a gust of wind that caught our bow and spun us around when we were in a line of boats going out through a swing bridge (it was like playing dodgems I had to run around with a fender to keep us off the other boats, no damage done!)
Going out of the Morbihan was great we went sideways at 11 knots then the tide turned and spat us out going the right way. We spent the night at Port Haliguen just across the bay.
We motored to Port Lois near Lorient on 17th very friendly and helpful marine staff. The port was a walled citadel, in the evening we went to a local display of traditional dancing but every dance looked the same with a ring of people going round in circles, it was advertised as a spectacular!
On Monday 19th we sailed to Loctudy which is where we are now. It’s a very pretty place, we found a fish market in the evening a brought some longustine for tea, on the boat next door a man was playing his accordion and the view was beautiful. a perfect evening. This morning we have just gone to the local market where I bought rather a lot of cheese as my French is terrible it cost €25 but luckily it’s very tasty and we ate a lot of it on the walk back. So tonight for dinner we will be having moules, longustine, oysters, cheese, bread and wine. I think we have turned French.

Vintage clothing has never really gone “out of style” but lately I’m seeing it on a ton of celebrities. If you have teenaged daughters this is going to be great for you.
