the latest movie watched

Finally, I have watched the loooong awaited Sex and The City the Movie.

Coming to our shores, very soon, but I rather wait not, so hubby and I decided to get the unofficial release at the kinky dvd store last weekend.

So we watch Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte in action. Somehoe it refreshes the old memories of watching the series with him. Long ago.

I've always wanted to make the all girls trip for this movie, but I presume I can't be spending long hours outdoors lately, so just cuddle in front of the telly with hubby next to you and since we just had the new sleek LCD tv that decorates the TV spot, why not make quality time at home?

and of course, I love the series better. But the Manolo's, Dior and LV handbags, Gucci dresses, and whatever they wore is completely fabulous. Hubby kept on repeating that the belt is in because the girls wore it throughout the show.

A comeback show, I was expecting more drama from it but ah well, it's just fair enough to see them again.

Summer Wedding Dress

Weddings have been traditional from the very start, but now tradition has matched up with fashion to make a statement. Now as a bride getting married this summer when you look out for your summer wedding dress, a good suggestion is to select dresses in light fabrics like Linen or Crepe and maybe a sleeveless or strapless dress and do try some color on rather than the traditional white. Light colors like light pink or lavender or cream also look good. The groom can try beautiful suits in black as usual and also other colors like dark brown, navy blue etc.

A summer wedding dress is not only for the bride and groom but it can also be for the guests attending the wedding. If there is any theme party then dress as per the theme, for example if the wedding is at a beach then ladies can opt for bright colored short floral cocktail dresses with bright color accessories and men can go in for linen suits or dress shirts with slacks in vibrant colors.

The summer wedding dress may be simple and at the same time fashionable. Men can team up their shirts with a nice bow or tie, and women can accessorize their summer wedding dress with fancy elegant jewelry and pretty hair accessories.

Furs and Fireworks

It was Bastille Day on Monday (the French 4th of July), and they celebrate with this military parade that goes down the Champs-Elysees. We didn't wake up in time to get there but watched on TV instead, which was pretty impressive. I think it's funny that France, which isn't exactly known for its modern military might, puts on this huge display of tanks and soldiers and planes. Carla Bruni was there, of course, in a bright blue suit, but I think she was outshone by the wife of some sheik, who was sporting a form-fitting lime-green jumpsuit with a matching turban and huge sunglasses. Awesome.

Like the 4th, Quatorze Juillet is marked by a fireworks display near the Eiffel Tower. Not nearly as impressive as the parade, but then again, I've seen fireworks before. I can't say the same for military parades.

But what is truly impressive are the Bastille Day sales. And I scored big with a gorgeous Just Cavalli leather and fur jacket. Yes, fur is terribly un-PC, but I get very cold, very easily and fur is about the only thing that keeps me warm. This jacket blows all my vintage furs out of the water:

So I got the coat at this little "destockage" shop, which means that they have a lot of designer stuff, usually from a few seasons ago, at great prices. They're more likely to negotiate prices with you, too. I got the jacket at 40% off, though it's still one of the most expensive pieces of clothing I currently own--yikes! I figure, though, that I'll wear it all the time, so I'm justifying the price tag. It's so rock and roll. And 40% off! (I realize it's July... what better time to go fur-shopping?)

Anyway, the store is located online as well and run by two cool (and very nice) young Asians, a guy and a girl. He's Gerard, but I didn't catch her name. The site is called Fashion Tribu and they'll ship internationally for 20-some euros. So check it out.

Tomorrow, I'm going to post my new favorite recipe. A real Italian spaghetti sauce that a real Italian girl taught me. I made it over the weekend (albeit for Frenchies) and it was a big hit!

Swimsuits For The Pure: “Wholesome Wear”

Those one-pieces showing too much skin? Want to go swimming but want to stay modest?

Now there's Wholesome Wear -- dresslike "swimsuits" for those who (I suppose) do not like to show skin at the beach for religious or other reasons. Their tagline is "Swimwear that highlights the face, not the body."

The unique swimwear feature two pieces -- a form-fitting inner layer and a dress-like outer layer -- both ending at about the knee. On one item, there is the option to buy an even more modest suit that terminates at mid-arm and mid-knee.

Wholesome Wear seem to be made for teenage girls as well as women. I'm curious as to what modest swimwear their brothers and fathers and husbands wear -- if they too have to wear two layers of longish clothing while at the beach or swimming in the water.

The Optimist’s Creed!

For those who know me well, would account that I need changes in my life to keep me going. I need to change to grow. Also, I just get bored of being the old myself. I need to know where I have to improve to move on and move ahead in life. I want to change for my own betterment.

A change for me is something that has to be positive all the time. I believe in having the faith that when you want good things to come in your life; they WILL - simply because you are positive about them coming to you. I understand and have experienced that sometimes it just hard to be positive continuously day in & day out in your life. There are times and minutes and seconds that you forget that you are being attracted towards negativity and you then get a constant flow of negative thoughts in your mind. Then what do you do? How do you come back to being positive, cheerful, satisfied and content during those times?

A simple thing that has been working for me is music, my friends and a constant reminder of certain things that I keep in front of me. Now, I know, a lot of people may have tried this and said, that over a period of time this fades away, however I challenge that you come out and challenge your own self to avoid letting it fade away from your life.

Now, my main intention for writing this post is to share what I have put up in front of me everyday. All that I ever believed in, I found it all consolidated on Website of "The Secret" {Previous posts on "The Secret Part - I" & "The Secret - A Review"}.

It is called the Optimist's Creed which has been written by Christian D. Larson almost 100 years ago. It's very strange or call it God's will that I landed on that exact page and also had it delivered in my mail box couple of days ago. This one contains just about everything that I have always talked about with people, just about every word that I completely BELIEVE in to its very core.

I now have its print out on my soft board on my desk where I see it everyday and all it helps me do is to remind me to make a Promise everyday. Make sure to use the words "I Promise" at the beginning of every statement.

Hope it helps & hits some of you as well. Let me know how it goes though, irrespective.
