I know its been a while since I posted anything, so this is a place-holding entry while I get all the photos uploaded and downloaded, and, well, loaded.

Last week was AWESOME. I had a workshop to teach at JoAnn Fabrics, so the kids and I did some Funky FIne Arts. It was definitely a challenge from my perspective, because we had a wide age-gap between students. The youngest were 8, the oldest 13. But every day was a blast. Sure, there were stumbling points, but I have to admit I was slightly out of practice with teaching... It was just great to get back into it.

Anyway, Monday was Color Theory (Color wheels, and box collages). Tuesday was Van Gogh (Painted birdhouses, and self-portraits). Wednesday was Michelangelo (Drawing under tables, and painted flower-pots). Thursday was Prehistoric Art ("Cave" drawings with chalk, and terra-cotta clay animals). Friday was a party, and M.c. Escher/ Printmaking (Eating doughnuts and other junkfood and screenprinting on the cheap). In talking to my boss, she really wants me to be teaching class when I have time.  I am really excited about it.

So far this week, I have been taking it easy. I totally loafed around on Saturday. Cleaned the "office" (my studio) on Sunday. Went to the leather store on Monday, and FINALLY (ok, I am very impatient when I am excited) received my package from Matatabi. (I will totally post pictures when they've been loaded.) Her store is full of super-amazing Japanese fabrics, and I LOVE that many of them are Linen or Linen/Cotton blends.

I have also been busy working on a couple of bags which happened to be some of my best ever, and my first time using RIVETS! I figured something very very important out: The rivets WILL NOT set right if you use the WRONG SIZE. Meaning: Don't use MEDIUM rivets when you need SMALL rivets. Its the only thing I would ad to the U-Handblog tutorial, which I linked directly to because I couldn't find the post on her blog. Please be sure to check out the rest of it, it really is fantastic.

I promise to get around to posting some pictures!
