bags……

It's saturday.i get my regular dose of HK gossips and what's new by picking up the 八卦杂志.

so many good reads.on beauty,gadgets,fashion,bags....

this is the popular ranking of the 2nd bags in HK Milan Station(deals with new n used bags).that's why i always like to invest in classic bags that are low maintainence, easy to match any outfits and even can pass down to my daughter in future:)

Chanel, all girls will drool at the classic 2.55 bags

Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not a luxury

A fashion that does not reach the streets is not a fashion

Fashion passes,style remains

counting down.....12,11,10,9........3,2,1!

Bags

I'm keeping up with the bql bag challenge, but haven't particularly enjoyed the last couple of months, so no pics. (It's not the bags themselves - I'm using up fabric that I wouldn't put into a quilt so can't get excited about the outcome!) But ...... in the March issue of QuiltWOW were instructions from Di Goodison for bags made from re-cycled plastic bags. I saw Di demonstrating these at a QGBI Conference a couple of years ago and loved her style. This is my take on the QuiltWOW pattern, the bag is made from an M & S carrier and the 'flower' is made from the reverse side of the same bag. I particularly like the way leaving the side seams open at the top changes the shape of this bag - I'll be making some more!

Bags….

So apart from all the crochet that's been leaving my fingertips, I've been trying to use up some of my fabric stash before leaving for Algeria. Serious decisions about what we have space to take have made me realise that I need to get rid of as much of my remaining fabric as possible. I'm decluttering with a vengence, there's nothing like moving to another continent to make you focus on the important things in life.

Anyway, bags were the most imaginative thing I could come up with, I'm feeling pretty unimaginative lately..can you tell?

Even the four year old got a bag!

bagsI have a whole bag of plastic grocery bags in my garage. I don't want to throw them away. I always forget to take them with me to the grocery store to put them in the recycle bin. Do they really recycle them, or do they just take them to the dumpster out back? Apparently, Giant sells reusable grocery bags now for 99 cents each, but I don't shop at Giant because I don't like the parking lot. The rows of parking are just too close together. And I don't think my local Food Lion would like it if I walked in with a load of Giant bags.

After a little online research, I found a couple of generic sources for reusable grocery bags. The first one is Bags on the Run, and as you would expect, the bags are green, the universal color for green stuff. Actually, they do offer a variety pack that includes red and black bags to match your outfit. You can order the bags for $1.99 each in a pack of 10 plus shipping.

The other source I located is 1 Bag at a Time. These bags appear to be a little more stylish than green. They come in dark blue, black and dark green. At the time of this posting, a pack of 10 is on sale for $15.99 plus about $7 shipping to the 'bury. I just might have to try them out. These bags are advertised to hold as much as 3-4 plastic bags or 2 paper bags. I saw a lady getting her groceries in paper bags yesterday at Food Lion. I didn't even know they still had those under the counter. I'll let you know how they work out. Wow, machine washable too.
